Overview

Golden Castle Group manages a portfolio of rental properties across Montreal. We are looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician who can respond to work orders, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure our units remain in good standing at all times.

This is not an entry-level role — we are looking for mid level or greater experience. Someone with hands-on experience who can work independently, use good judgment, and communicate clearly with both management and guests when needed.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning and safety of our properties, our equipment, and facilities. The Maintenance Technician will play a vital role in maintaining operational efficiency, troubleshooting issues, and implementing preventative maintenance strategies.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of maintenance or building operations experience (STR or hotel experience an asset)
  • Driver's license required (Quebec legal)
  • Diagnose and repair minor issues: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, drywall, locks/doors, lighting, fixtures, etc.
  • Preventative awareness to keep units in guest-ready condition
  • Handle basic carpentry, patching, painting, and small renovations when needed
  • Coordinate and supervise external contractors when higher-level work is required
  • Maintain guest-safe standards in all units
  • Replace items quickly (filters, bulbs, batteries, smoke detectors, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, TV, smart locks, and small tech-related issues
  • Support turnover teams when property damages are found

Team Communication & Reporting

  • Document completed work and parts used
  • Report recurring issues to management
  • Communicate estimated timelines for repairs

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems.
  • Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Experience in welding techniques suitable for industrial environments.
  • Electrical experience including troubleshooting circuits, wiring, and control panels.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to machinery repair, alignment, and component replacement.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning and execution within an industrial setting.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; capable of documenting work clearly.
  • Supervising experience with the ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining a focus on safety standards.
  • Customer service orientation with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Leadership qualities that foster teamwork, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is integral to maintaining the operational integrity of our facilities while fostering a safe working environment through expert maintenance practices. Schedule

  • Flexible, but must provide clear availability
