The Biologics Manufacturing Centre (BMC) Inc. is a new 54,900 square foot biomanufacturing facility whose construction was completed in June 2021. The BMC, a not-for-profit organization, supports the expansion of Canada’s biologics manufacturing capacity, ensuring that vaccines and other related products can be safely manufactured at home. BMC is designed to produce biopharmaceuticals such as viral vector, protein subunit and virus-like particle vaccines and other biologics.

In order to contribute to the implementation of the new not-for-profit organization and to make biomedical innovations more accessible to Canadians, we are looking for a
**Maintenance and Automation**
**Technician**
***who will participate in programming, commissioning, maintenance and operation of production and packaging equipment, particularly automated filling equipment.

Under the supervision of the Supervisor, Maintenance, the
- **Maintenance and Automation**
**Technician** will be responsible to:

- Provide technical expertise and assistance in the operation and troubleshooting of Vanrx aseptic filling equipment (as a priority) and other production and packaging equipment.
- Diagnose and carry out routine preventive maintenance, corrective action and repairs.
- Program PLCs, automatic process sequences and operator interface pages.
- Maintain plant, warehouse and building equipment and utilities.
- Ensure that equipment, mechanical systems and utilities operate safely and reliably under optimum conditions.

**You are the person we are looking for if**:

- You hold a college diploma or degree from a recognized technical institution in electromechanics, mechanics or industrial maintenance.
- You have a minimum of two (2) years' experience in automation and five (5) years' experience as a Maintenance Technician in a GMP pharmaceutical environment or equivalent.
- Experience in calibration is an asset.
- You have experience working on aseptic filling machines and troubleshooting manufacturing process problems.
- You are customer oriented, able to work independently, have a good collaboration spirit and a strong sense of organization and priority management.
- You must be available for on-call work.
- Flexible hours and overtime will be required, including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
