Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Russian Speaking Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide high-quality care to our clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and support individuals with various needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, and Alzheimer's. This role requires effective communication skills in both Russian and English, as well as a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Provide patient observation and monitoring to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Support clients in maintaining their personal hygiene and cleanliness in their living environment.
  • Administer medication as per care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client's quality of life.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care activities and report any changes in condition to the supervising nurse or care manager.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in home health, assisted living, or long-term care settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is an asset.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or memory care needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of patient monitoring techniques and vital signs assessment.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Russian and English are essential for effective interaction with clients and families.
  • A compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in providing high-quality caregiving services.
  • Familiarity with cleaning protocols, meal preparation, and basic cooking skills is beneficial.
