This is an opportunity to elevate your tax preparation skills by integrating T1 and T2 returns into a client's comprehensive financial plan. This role goes beyond simply preparing tax returns at a fast pace, it provides the chance to gain deeper experience, knowledge, and strategic insight. For our team, T1 filing is just the starting point in delivering meaningful value to clients. Implementing a written tax plan brings a higher level of work fulfillment, enabling you to make a real difference to clients financial. Imagine recommending and assisting with strategies such as RRSP contributions, incorporations, or making a client's mortgage tax-deductible and other initiatives that save tax and create a lasting impact on clients' financial well-being.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our CPA accountant and financial planners to support financial planning, tax planning, and year-round client recommendations. This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities, breaking away from the monotony of routine tax preparation and providing a dynamic and engaging work environment.

The successful candidate will have strong and professional communication skills as well as vast experience with excel and Adobe and the ability to adapt easily to different technology and software solutions.
Strong organizational and management skills are essential for this role, throughout the increased workload during tax season. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and perform under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.

Duties:
- Facilitating the preparation of the T1 and T2 returns and T3, T4 and T5's.
- Prior to tax preparation, review all client documents, identify missing or unnecessary items, obtain any required documentation, and ensure the file is complete and ready for final preparation.
- Obtaining information required for preparation from CRA Represent a Client, tax packages and reports for investment accounts, mortgage statements, etc.
- Spreadsheet preparation for some clients including minor rental, medical and donation spreadsheet calculations and totals.
- Coordinating and preparing for client drop off meetings as well as management of the files received at the office.
- Coordinating and delivering the prepared tax file, coordinating meetings, obtaining signatures and completing final steps of filing the T1 return.
- Assisting with the preparation of the written tax plan.
- Preparing CRA reviews and uploading of documents to the CRA.
- Acting as a liaison with the CRA on matters related to client files.
- Assisting with RRSP, income and financial planning recommendations.
- Managing and responding to client inquiries.
