**Key Responsibilities:**

- Teach art classes to children after school hours, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

- Utilize provided lesson plans while also allowing for personal creativity and input.

- Collaborate with our team to develop and enhance the learning experience for students.

**Qualifications:**

- Experience working with children is required.

- An art background or relevant education is preferred.

- Flexibility to commute between different schools in Surrey.

**Availability:**

Classes run after school, so please apply only if you are available during the hours of 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. We value flexibility and are open to candidates who can commit to one, two, or three days a week.

Duties

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate art lesson plans that align with curriculum standards
  • Guide students in exploring various art techniques, mediums, and styles
  • Foster creativity and self-expression among students of different age groups
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage growth
  • Organize and supervise art projects, exhibitions, or displays within the classroom or school community
  • Support classroom management and maintain a safe, inclusive environment
  • Collaborate with other educators to integrate art into interdisciplinary lessons when appropriate
  • Assist with classroom activities such as tutoring or extra help sessions as needed
  • Promote positive behavior and encourage student participation in art activities

Skills

  • Proven experience with teaching or tutoring children in an educational setting
  • Strong knowledge of art techniques, materials, and classroom management strategies
  • Experience working with children of various ages, especially in early childhood education
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage students and collaborate with colleagues
  • Ability to inspire creativity and foster a supportive learning environment
  • Basic cooking skills are considered a nice-to-have for integrating arts into broader educational activities
  • Prior classroom experience is highly desirable to ensure effective lesson delivery and student engagement

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per year

Work Location: In person
