**Job Overview**

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Delivering engaging and comprehensive lectures and practical demonstrations to students pursuing careers in the Education Industry.
- Provide one-on-one or group support to students, reinforcing instructional content.
- Evaluating student performance, grading assignments, and providing constructive feedback to support academic growth.
- Foster effective communication between students, instructors, and other educational staff.
- Maintain accurate records related to student performance and classroom activities.
- Providing academic guidance, mentorship, and support to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Staying updated on advancements in Social Services, integrating relevant findings into the curriculum, and sharing expertise with both colleagues and students.
- Collaborating with the academic team to design and update curricula, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, professional standards, and academic expectations.
- Commitment to continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in education and relevant legislation affecting Education Assistants and special education.

**Qualifications**:

- A Bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant field such as Education, Special Education, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience working as an Education Assistant is required.
- Previous teaching experience in post-secondary education, particularly in an Education Assistant or related program, is preferred.
- Specialized training in Education Assistance or any related fields, is preferred.
- Additional certifications in First Aid, Child Development, Behavioral Management, or other relevant areas will be an added advantage.

Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 23 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Surrey, BC V3T 0P9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Education Assistant: 2 years (preferred)
