Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional front desk support, manage electronic medical records, and ensure smooth daily operations within a busy medical or dental office. This role requires strong administrative skills, familiarity with medical terminology, and experience with office management systems such as Epic and Dentrix. The Medical Office Assistant will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while maintaining efficient office workflows.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, providing excellent customer service.
- Manage multi-line phone systems, scheduling appointments, and confirming patient visits.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records using systems like Epic and Dentrix.
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, including collecting insurance information and updating patient data.
- Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and correspondence to support clinical staff.
- Coordinate with medical professionals to facilitate smooth patient flow and appointment scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Support billing processes and insurance verifications as needed.
- Perform general office duties to ensure an organized and efficient work environment.
Experience
- Prior experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a Medical Office setting is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic is essential.
- Knowledge of dental office software like Dentrix is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to healthcare documentation.
- Proven experience managing multi-line phone systems and front desk operations.
- Office experience in a healthcare environment demonstrating excellent organizational skills and professionalism.
- Previous administrative experience supporting clinical staff in busy healthcare settings is advantageous.
