Job Overview

We are looking for an instructor who is:

  • Comfortable teaching and engaging small groups of kids (ages 8–15)
  • Experienced in teaching communication-related skills (public speaking, leadership, group interaction, or similar)
  • Warm, encouraging, patient, and great at guiding shy or hesitant speakers
  • Able to deliver live weekly online sessions
  • Willing to create recorded video lessons and practice activities
  • Excited to help kids grow confidence in a supportive, fun environment

This role is ideal for teachers, youth facilitators, coaches, or professionals with strong communication training experience.

Responsibilities

Live Instruction

  • Teach weekly live, online small-group classes

Content & Lesson Creation

  • Record short asynchronous video lessons (5–10 minutes each)
  • Create practice worksheets, prompts, and take-home challenges
  • Suggest new activities and help improve the curriculum

Student Support & Feedback

  • Provide positive, encouraging feedback to students
  • Monitor participation and adjust activities based on the group
  • Use simple progress tools (reflection prompts, participation notes)

Program Participation

  • Attend short onboarding/training sessions
  • Collaborate with program leads on curriculum updates
  • Communicate with parents professionally when needed

Safety Requirements

Because we work with children, all instructors must:

  • Have teaching or youth facilitation experience
  • Be comfortable teaching kids ages 8–15
  • Complete a Criminal Record Check / Background Check (or be willing to obtain one before starting)
  • Follow YoungSkillz's Child Safety & Conduct guidelines

Qualifications

Required:

  • 1+ years teaching or youth leadership experience
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills
  • Experience working with kids in group settings
  • Ability to deliver engaging online sessions
  • Friendly, encouraging, and patient teaching style

Nice to Have:

  • Background in public speaking, drama, leadership coaching, or communication arts
  • Experience creating educational content
  • Knowledge of child development or youth psychology (not required but beneficial)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 – 4 per week
