About the Role

We are looking for a performance-minded Digital Marketing Specialist to drive subscription and membership growth across Canada's most iconic media brands: Toronto Life , Maclean's , and Chatelaine .

This is not a traditional "rinse and repeat" marketing role. We are looking for an AI-native marketer —someone who views AI tools as essential levers to work smarter, faster, and more effectively.

Your core mission is profitable subscriber acquisition. You'll optimize mid-sized budgets across Meta and Google while acting as a one-person creative engine. You will use generative AI and automation tools to produce high volumes of thoughtful ad creative, performative landing pages, streamline reporting, and uncover insights that a human eye might miss. You will be running daily experiments to understand what hooks and value props are converting with our personas and experiment with new acquisition strategies. If you are scrappy, obsessed with efficiency, and love testing new tools, we want to meet you.

What You Will Do

1 . Performance Marketing

Scale with Science: Plan, execute, and optimize paid media campaigns across Meta and Google, managing six figure budgets that maximize conversions and LTV.

High-Velocity Testing : Move beyond A/B testing to multivariate testing at scale. You will use AI to rapidly iterate on hooks, headlines, and angles to lower CPA and boost ROAS.

Smart Reporting: Utilize AI and data tools to instantly synthesize weekly performance reports, turning raw data into actionable narratives.

2. The "Creative Engine" (Generative Ad Production)

Volume & Variation: You won't just "request" assets; you will build them. Use tools like Gemini 3, Canva, Unbounce, and your own agents to turn creative concepts into 20 unique visual and copy variations with complementary landing pages.

Rapid Iteration: Identify fatigue in ad creatives and refresh them in minutes, not days.

Brand Consistency: Ensure all AI-generated output adheres strictly to the premium visual standards of our media brands.

3. Organic Growth & Community

Social Efficiency : Manage organic social for Toronto Life Insider to build product awareness, using tools to repurpose long-form content into bite-sized social posts, captions, and threads.

Creator Marketing Operations : Streamline creator engagement, tracking and outcomes, potentially using automation tools to manage creator relationships and deliverables.

Who You Are

The Profile: You have 3+ years of hands-on paid social experience (Agency or DTC) achieving ambitious ROAS targets. You are ready to apply a "hacker" mindset to marketing.

The AI Tinkerer : You don't wait for training. You are driving results with tools like ChatGPT/Claude for strategy, for visuals, or Zapier for automation. You are excited to teach us what's new.

A "Scrappy" Learner: You don't need a roadmap. If a platform changes or a tag breaks, you Google it, find a YouTube tutorial, or ask an LLM to help you fix it.

Data-Fluent : You are comfortable in Meta Ads Manager and GA4, but you prefer using technology to dig deeper into why a number moved.

Design-Savvy : You have a strong eye for composition and typography. You know that while AI can generate the image, your taste is what makes it "on brand."

What Success Looks Like

Efficiency: You are delivering double the creative output and reporting depth of a traditional specialist without working overtime.

Performance: Paid campaigns consistently meet or exceed ROAS and CPA goals through aggressive creative testing.

Innovation: You have successfully introduced at least two new tools or workflows that saved the team time or improved results.

Growth: Month-over-month growth in subscriptions and Toronto Life Insider memberships.
