Position Title:
Forklift Operator (Line Feeder)
Position Description
As a Line Feeder, you will be responsible for maintaining material flow and distribution to production as scheduled by the Value Stream Manager. This role requires the ability to work independently, operate material-handling equipment, and communicate effectively with the supply chain and production teams.
Position Responsibilities
- Ability and flexibility to operate a forklift, enter data into MRP system and work within our production areas independently
- Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; and recording location of inventory
- Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders
- Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
- Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
- Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
- Documents product shipment by recording units shipped.
- Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Will require heavy lifting repetitively
Qualifications
- Experience with a Management Resource Planning System (MRP)
- Forklift license required
- Experience operating different types of forklifts (counterbalance, dock stocker, yard forklifts)
- Experience with RFID scanning tools is an asset
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues independently
- Collaborative team player with effective communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a mechanical and technical aptitude
- Demonstrates safety consciousness and hazard awareness
- Strong work ethic and ambition to learn and be cross-trained
- Enjoys physical, hands-on tasks
Skills
- High attention to detail with accuracy in completing tasks
- Ability to read and follow standardized work instructions
- Effective multitasking and task prioritization in a deadline-oriented environment
- Punctual, reliable, and a strong team player
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm for learning new processes
- Proficient in basic computer navigation for inventory control and data entry
Shift Schedule
- Training: Monday - Thursday: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Regular Shift: Monday - Thursday: 4:30 PM - 3:00 AM
Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements
- Tasks are repetitive, individual must be capable of standing in one place for extended periods of time
- Work is conducted in an indoor manufacturing environment, around various pieces of equipment (overhead cranes, forklifts, etc.)
- Environment can be hot and have high temperatures inside the building during the summer months
- Heavy lifting required on a daily basis, up to 50lbs
- Have the ability to lift and manipulate product on and off skids/equipment.
- Fast paced, efficiency driven environment.
- Rigorous physical activities - pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, turning and standing primarily throughout the shift.
