Job Summary
The Purchasing Specialist is a strategic procurement role requiring in-depth knowledge of local restaurant equipment or food supplies, a strong supplier network, and the ability to develop precise procurement plans aligned with new store opening timelines. The ideal candidate will possess solid financial acumen, excellent negotiation skills, and a proactive approach to managing the end-to-end procurement process, including potential import/export operations.
Duties
- Leverage existing knowledge and resources to source and evaluate suppliers for restaurant kitchen equipment, dining furniture, tableware, or food ingredients, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
- Conduct in-depth market research, data analysis and report specific to the F&B sector to identify trends, new products, and potential suppliers.
- Lead negotiations to secure the best commercial terms, strictly control costs, and achieve cost-saving targets.
- Efficiently coordinate logistics, warehousing, and preliminary import/export processes. Resolve various unexpected issues that arise during procurement.
- Monitor procurement budgets, analyze costs, and achieve cost-saving targets without compromising on quality or delivery timelines.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all purchases, supplier information, and contracts.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Supply Chain Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in a related field.
- 3+ years of procurement experience, with specific experience in sourcing for the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Understanding of import/export processes is a significant plus.
- Strong financial awareness and numerical skills, with a proven track record in data analysis , cost negotiation and achieving savings.
- Excellent negotiation skills, cost awareness, and risk management abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously, self-motivated, and strong learning ability.
- A valid driver's license is required for supplier visits and market research.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $43,000.00-$48,000.00 per year
