Reporting to the Director of Field Operations, we are seeking an Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) to lead our offshore cable installation and maintenance projects. The OIM will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of projects by overseeing all aspects of operations, from technical management to client coordination. This position requires extensive experience in submarine cable operations, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality. They will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

His/Her responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Project Management and Leadership:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between IT International Telecom, client representatives, and third parties.
- Lead and coordinate all offshore operations, including planning, survey, cable lay, deck operations, vessel movements, ploughing, ROV operations, testing, and jointing.
- Ensure that all operations comply with cable system supplier standards, client contracts, and company procedures.
- Conduct daily project meetings with the client representative to review progress and address any concerns.
- Manage the production and submission of Daily Progress Reports for client approval.
Technical and Operational Oversight:
- Oversee the installation, testing, and maintenance of submarine cables, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the project manager/vessel master on operational decisions, including port calls and major changes to work procedures.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all cable departments, including survey, DP, ploughing, ROV and jointing.
- Approve all onboard work procedures related to cable operations.
Client and Stakeholder Interface:
- Liaise with client representatives to address onboard queries, non-conformances, and revisions to scheduled procedures.
- Ensure client approval of all changes and maintain transparent communication throughout the project.
- Assist the project manager in transmitting all relevant documentation and information to the client and stakeholders.
Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance:
- Implement and enforce the Safety Management System at the management level.
- Along with safety officer, lead the safety briefings and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Ensure all operations comply with international and national regulations, codes, and guidelines.
Logistics and Resource Management:
- Assist with managing the logistics of mobilizing and demobilizing equipment and personnel.
- Along with project manager and deck officers, ensure that all necessary resources, including equipment, materials, and personnel, are available and ready for deployment.
- Coordinate with shore-based teams to address any logistical challenges that may arise during the mission.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of all activities during the project, including daily progress reports, incident reports, and any changes to the plan.
- Ensure that all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner, in accordance with company and client requirements.
- Ensure a final report at the conclusion of the project, summarizing the outcomes, challenges, and lessons learned.
Required Competencies and Assets:
- Minimum 5 years of experience supervising submarine cable operations.
- Experience as a Master of DP vessel is considered an asset.
- MakaiLay experience is considered an asset.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and make critical decisions in real time.
- Familiarity with international and national regulations, codes, and guidelines related to submarine cable operations.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
