  • Administer advanced routing and switching platforms, ensuring high availability and network segmentation through technologies such as VRF, BGP, and EIGRP.
  • Support and manage network access control and wireless solutions to maintain secure connectivity and consistent access policies.
  • Configure and maintain cloud network services and hybrid integrations between on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Implement and maintain strong network segmentation and security controls, partnering with the cybersecurity team to align with corporate policies, standards and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with managed service providers for operations, incident resolution, and project execution.
  • Conduct capacity planning, performance optimization, and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and change management records.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to improve reliability, performance, and security.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring

  • Proven hands-on experience with next-generation firewall platforms, SD-WAN, and enterprise routing/switching technologies.
  • Strong understanding of network security, segmentation, and zero-trust principles.
  • Experience with access control systems, wireless infrastructure, and cloud networking.
  • Familiarity with hybrid IT/OT environments, working closely with OT teams to support secure connectivity and network alignment.
  • Proficiency with key network protocols (IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP, VPNs) and diagnostic tools such as Wireshark.
  • Certifications such as PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer), CCNP Enterprise/Security, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Additional credentials in cloud networking or cybersecurity (e.g., Azure Network Engineer Associate, CISSP, Security+) are considered assets.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cybersecurity and infrastructure teams.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based, with occasional travel to field or remote sites.
  • This job is subject to background checks as outlined in Gibson Energy's Background Checks policy. Background checks may include: employment history verification, reference checks, education and/or credentials verification, credit check and a criminal history check.

They have significant terminal assets, including 25 million barrels of storage and over 300 miles (500 kilometres) of crude pipelines across North America. The company has been providing market access to the oil and gas industry for over 70 years and is publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX:GEI) with a market capitalization of approximately $4 billion.

Gibson Energy operates through two main segments:

  1. Infrastructure: This includes terminals, marine loading, rail loading and unloading facilities, gathering pipelines, a diluent recovery unit, and a crude oil processing facility. Key facilities within this segment include the Hardisty, Edmonton, and Ingleside Terminals, as well as gathering pipelines in the United States and a crude oil processing facility in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
  2. Marketing: This involves the purchasing, selling, storing, and optimizing of hydrocarbon products.
