**Medical Office Assistant**:
**Family Practice**

The Medical Centre is recruiting for a Medical Office Assistant to support and work in close collaboration with a family physician and interdisciplinary health professionals. The MOA is a front-line employee and a valuable member of the team.

We are a multi-specialty clinic providing a wide variety of health care to patients of the city of Peterborough and area. Our team of medical and surgical specialists, family physicians and interprofessional healthcare providers (IHP) are committed to providing quality patient care. We offer a variety of quality, on-site services to the community including X-ray, ultrasound, mammography, hearing services and pharmacy services.

**Qualifications**:

- Medical Receptionist/Medical Office Assistant certification or direct experience
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
- Ideally 2+ years previous medical office experience, preferably in family practice
- Previous experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) program
- Ability to set priorities and maintain a well-organized office
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Covid-19 vaccinated x 2

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage schedule for a physician, a registered practical nurse (RPN) and Nurse Practitioner
- Greet and check-in patients upon arrival
- Schedule appointments, respond to messages
- Perform a variety of administrative tasks (faxes, mail, messaging etc.)
- Prepare, collect, and record payment of third-party bills, when required
- Maintain inventory of office supplies, as needed
- Assist with taking patients to exam rooms, handling specimens, and preparing rooms between patients
- Perform well under pressure and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
- Work occasional evening and weekend clinics
