As a Golf Course Volunteer, you play a vital role in supporting the smooth operation and maintenance of the golf course, ensuring an enjoyable experience for players. Volunteers are essential in assisting with marshalling, starting, and course maintenance tasks. This role requires a commitment to customer service, attention to detail, and a passion for golf.
**Key Duties**:
1. Marshalling: Monitor pace of play and course flow by patrolling designated areas of the course, ensuring players adhere to golf course rules and etiquette.
2. Starting: Assist with the efficient and orderly start of golf rounds by coordinating player check-in, assigning tee times, and providing information on course conditions and local rules.
3. Course Maintenance: Work alongside groundskeeping staff to perform various maintenance tasks, including divot repair, ball mark fixing, bunker raking, and debris removal, to uphold course aesthetics and playing conditions.
4. Tee Box Setup: Assist in setting up tee boxes, including placement of tee markers, divot mix, and signage, to ensure proper alignment and presentation for players.
5. Waste Management: Help maintain cleanliness of the golf course by collecting and disposing of trash and litter throughout the facility, including on-course and in common areas.
6. Player Assistance: Provide assistance and guidance to players as needed, including directions to amenities, information on course layout, and basic troubleshooting for golf equipment.
7. Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service to all patrons, addressing inquiries, providing information, and resolving issues in a courteous and professional manner.
8. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of guests and staff, including proper handling of equipment and adherence to course policies.
9. Equipment Care: Assist in the care and maintenance of golf course equipment, including golf carts, range pickers, and hand tools, to ensure functionality and longevity.
10. Event Support: Offer support during golf tournaments, outings, and special events, including setup, player registration, and on-course assistance as directed by event organizers.
11. Communication: Maintain clear and open communication with golf course staff, fellow volunteers, and players to ensure effective coordination and cooperation throughout daily operations.
