**Position Summary**

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Instrumentation Technician evaluates, maintains, services and repairs instrumentation to a quality level that meeting customer expectations. The Instrumentation Technician may also be required to troubleshoots instrumentation with the customer in person or on the phone to get their instrumentation functioning as timely as possible.

**Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions**

The position will include the following responsibilities:
Leadership:
Build support and engagement for corporate & operations initiatives and objectives; and

Demonstrate Rice values and commitment to Rice Vision & Mission.

Safety:
Understand and comply with the Rice EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) System; and

Help promote a safe work environment.

Instrumentation:
Perform all required functions of the Rental Process, **0001-0215-PD-Rental of Equipment and Instrumentation**, including:

- Calibrate and testing Rental Equipment prior to rental;
- Inspecting and evaluating incoming rental instrumentations calibration, function, damage and cleanliness; and
- Troubleshooting issues with all rental instrumentation.

Ensures that both Rice and Customer-owned equipment and instrumentation is serviced as required per **0001-0215-PD-Rental of Equipment and Instrumentation **and **0001-0222-PD-Rental Equipment Asset Management**, including:

- Coordinates with purchasing and/or vendor to fix instrumentation in need of repair; and
- Communicating with sales for estimating and quoting service and repairs of customer instrumentation.

Position parts and assemble according to manufacturing orders and work instructions;
Efficiently produce quality product, on time, that meets customer expectations; and

Understand and follow OMS Processes related to Job Title as per the Training Matrix.

**Required Skills, Education & Competencies**

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Two to four years of related experience and/or instrumentation technician certificate.

Controls experience considered an asset.

Ability to read and interpret English.

Ability to perform basic math; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Must be able to follow directions. Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.

Intermediate computer navigation and utilization skills.

Ability to use hand tools and/or power tools, and precision measuring equipment.

**Physical Demands / Working Conditions**

Occasionally work at a desk for extended periods of time.

Occasionally stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours).

Regularly perform repetitive tasks.

Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together accurately in an instrumentation environment.

Able to work independently for extended periods of time.

Occasionally required to lift 30-50 lbs.

Working at a desk for extended periods of time.

**Salary**: $21.15-$28.79 per hour
