**Instrument Technician**

Sirius Controls is the industry leader in Chemical Injection Systems. We are currently looking to add Instrument Technician to our team in Edmonton. Below you will find more information regarding the duties and responsibilities of this individual as well as the requirements and skills needed to get the job done.

**Specific Responsibilities**:

- Work with a variety of electronic instruments to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, temperature, level, and composition
- Test accuracy of flow-meters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers and other recording, indicating or controlling instruments.
- Prepare schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments, circuits and systems.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting instrumentation issues along with identifying reliability and optimization opportunities.
- Repair and adjust system components (sensors, transmitters, programmable logic controllers, etc.); remove and replace defective parts.
- Install process control and measurement instrumentation on existing and new field equipment and processes.
- Assembling electrical and mechanical components.
- Route or connect wires between components, connectors and terminals.
- Inspect mechanical and electrical components and assemblies to ensure adherence to specified requirements, labeling and packaging.
- Perform mechanical work associated with instrument repair and modification; remove and install small piping and tubing
- Read manufacturer’s manuals, circuit diagrams, Bills of Material and quality control specifications for assembly procedures.

**Requirements**:

- 1st - 3rd year Instrument Technician in the Oil and Gas/Industrial Industry required
- Strong work ethic, high degree of enthusiasm.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
- Able to read, interpret and follow procedures for mechanical/electrical design drawings
- Computer skills: Proficient with MS Word, Excel.
- Able to work as part of a team or independently with mínimal supervision
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and challenges
- Valid driver's license

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
