**Title**:Catering andEvents Coordinator
**Start Date**: Immediate Start
**Position Description**:
In this role as Catering Coordinator, you will be primarily responsible for two major corporate accounts, as well as several other smaller corporate accounts.
At Ascari Events + Catering you will be expected to manage day-to-day catering orders and provide support to fellow team members. You will utilize problem-solving, organization, time-management, and communication skills in this role. You must be able to see a problem, work, and think through it to find the most logical, economical, and all-around best solution, or escalate to the manager at the right time.
You will be working alongside a dynamic group of catering and event professionals while we fulfill the vision and mission of The Ascari Group.
**Core Responsibilities**
- Perform catering order triage and working through client in-take forms.
- Generate client orders for submission.
- Convey your ideas, thoughts, and opinions in a clear and concise manner, both on paper and in person.
- Provide the team with administrative support as required
- Contribute to the development and production of promotional materials & event signage
- Understand, create, and stick to timelines/deadlines; and guide your colleagues, suppliers or clients to do the same.
- Work within budgets provided and ensure all event deliverables are cost-effective
- Coordinate multiple catering projects at a time while keeping details of each file straight and regularly updated in databases. All updates should be documented.
- Confidence to build and maintain client relationships.
- Responsible for obtaining payments according to the Ascari Group’s payment policies, updating invoices, tracking sheets & databases
- A high level of work ethics and integrity will be expected from this role.
- Provide support for lead generation and assist with aspects of client relations.
- Leverage customer insights and analytics to increase customer retention targets in support of catering sales.
- Conduct general market research to keep up to date on trends and competitor’s marketing movements.
- Coordinate with other team members for different objectives to reach a desired result.
**Qualifications**
- Insanely organized, great time manager and scheduler
- Experience juggling multiple projects at a time
- Persuasive
- Eloquent, effective communicator in both speaking and writing
- Excellent organizational skills and very detail-oriented
- Able to effectively handle stress
- Advance skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proficient knowledge of Canva and Triple Seat or similar CRM system considered an advantage
- Knowledge of project-management methods and practices
- Familiar with health and safety regulations as it relates to catering
- Proven ability to think on your feet and solve problems quickly. Strong analytical skills required.
**Requirements**:
- Post-Secondary education in Catering or Event Management, Hospitality Management; or related fields
- Have completed an apprenticeship in a related field
- 1-2 years' event coordination or management experience
- 2-5 years' customer service experience
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven ability to manage budgets
- A desire to do what it takes to get the job done
- A never-ending sense of customer service
