**IT Support Technician - Calgary (Onsite & Hybrid)**

Are you an experienced **IT Technician, IT Support Specialist, or Desktop Support Analyst** looking for hands-on, client-facing work in Calgary? We’re a Managed IT Services company seeking a **local, reliable, and well-rounded IT professional** with strong Microsoft 365 expertise, cybersecurity knowledge, and broad technical support skills.

This **hourly, contract-based role** is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day — providing in-person support at client offices across Calgary, along with some remote work from home or our office as needed.

**What You'll Do**

As part of our support team, you’ll deliver a combination of **onsite and remote IT services** for clients across multiple industries. Your core responsibilities will include:
**Technical Support & Troubleshooting**
- Provide day-to-day support for desktop hardware, software, and end-user issues (Windows, Microsoft 365, printers, etc.)
- Set up new devices, perform software installs, and configure user profiles
- Manage and resolve tickets through helpdesk systems with strong communication and follow-up

**Microsoft Technology Stack**
- Manage and support Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Intune)
- Build and maintain SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, and permissions
- Work with Azure AD, Endpoint Manager, Conditional Access, and identity/security policies
- Support Dynamics 365, Power BI, and Power Platform tools
- General familiarity with Windows Server environments, Hyper-V, Group Policy, and domain services

**Client-Site and Network Support**
- Travel to client offices for troubleshooting, setup, or project work
- Perform physical installs of networking hardware (routers, switches, patch panels, access points)
- Execute basic server tasks including backups, system checks, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory updates

**Cybersecurity Expertise**
- Identify and respond to potential security risks across networks, devices, and cloud environments
- Contribute to client security posture through implementation of modern controls and configuration standards
- Experience with or understanding of cybersecurity tools and platforms (e.g., EDR, vulnerability scanners, monitoring, or backup solutions)

**Project & Infrastructure Support**
- Assist with IT rollouts, migrations, and infrastructure upgrades
- Document IT environments and contribute to improving system reliability and efficiency
- Offer strategic recommendations to clients on general system health, modernization, or best practices
- Bring familiarity with MSP platforms, third-party tools, and vendors commonly used in monitoring, cybersecurity, and IT performance

**What We’re Looking For**

This role is designed for a well-rounded IT professional comfortable in fast-moving MSP environments.

**Core Skills & Experience**
- 3+ years in an IT Technician, Help Desk, or IT Support role (MSP experience is a strong asset)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and cloud-based IT services
- Hands-on experience with hardware diagnostics and end-user support
- Background in cybersecurity or related training is highly valued
- Comfort working onsite in client environments with mínimal supervision

**Technical Proficiency**
- Desktop and end-user support for Windows environments
- Strong understanding of the full Microsoft ecosystem: Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Exchange, Intune, Azure AD, Windows Server, Power Platform
- Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, switches, wireless access points
- Server and virtualization: Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Hyper-V or VMware

**Certifications (Preferred but not required)**
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (MS-900) or Administrator Associate (MS-102)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+
- Bonus: Cybersecurity certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC-900, or equivalent

**Additional Information**
- **Location**: Must be based in Calgary, Alberta - majority of work is onsite at client offices
- **Job Type**: Part-time or Full-time (hourly contractor role)
- **Schedule**: Monday to Friday; some flexibility required
- **Compensation**: Competitive hourly rate, based on experience

Experience with industry-specific tools such as GeoScout, AccuMap, AutoCAD, or engineering/energy software is considered a bonus.
