**Ophthalmology Assistant/Technician (Casual)**

**Hours**: Casual Monday
- Friday

**Wage**: $16.245/hr. $24.016/hr.

**Position Summary**:
The Winnipeg Clinic Ophthalmology Department is seeking an individual who can deliver excellent customer service to our patients and maintain efficient patient flow for multiple physicians’ practices. This is a great opportunity for those individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment. Previous ophthalmology/optometric experience is an asset, but we are willing to train an individual who is motivated and eager to learn. We are seeking a casual employee with the possibility of it turning to full time in the future.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Obtain and document comprehensive medical and ophthalmic history utilizing an EMR system (Accuro)
- Preliminary examination screening (visual acuity, pupillary assessment, tonometry, pachymetry and BAT, Ishihara Plates, tear film function and instillation of drops)
- Performance of diagnostic testing and imaging (OCT, Humphreys Visual Fields,A-scans,B-scans)
- Assist with ophthalmic procedures (intraocular injections of medications, laser photocoagulation, minor office procedures)

Performance Requirements
- Must be flexible and able to function in a fast-paced environment with great interpersonal skills
- Strong decision-making skills
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking
- Have good computer skills (Accuro, Forum knowledge an asset but not required)
