Bartender (on The Rocks Lounge)

**About Us** Spray Lake Sawmills Centre (SLSC) is a leading-edge sport and recreational facility encompassing 325,000 square feet, including an aquatic centre, four arenas and a curling centre, fitness & climbing facilities, an indoor turf, track, and gymnasium, and is home to several third-party tenants. Our facilities are located in Cochrane, Alberta. **About the Position** This seasonal bartending role will be responsible for operating "On The Rocks", SLSC's lounge space in the Curling Centre, including efficient and courteous customer service for our On The Rocks patrons. This is currently a simple bar set-up, and the ideal bartender will have a fun and engaging personality - and ideally an interest in Curling & Hockey (or any sports, for that matter) **Job Type**: Part-time, Seasonal, Hourly - Shifts are driven by events & bonspiel schedule **Term**: October 2025 - June 30, 2026 **Wage**: $15.50 + tips **Schedule/Availability Required**:Must be able to work until midnight (& occasionally later), and some flexibility for daytime shifts to support bonspiels is an asset **Specific responsibilities**: - Assist customer in an engaging, professional, efficient and courteous manner. - Providing superior customer service, build relationships with guests, and always maintain a professional and customer friendly attitude and appearance. - Prepare the Lounge for service according to procedure and direction. - Pour and prepare drinks with adherence to all liquor laws and licensing guidelines. - Communicate with guests to resolve complaints and ensure satisfaction. - Accurately handle transactions, collect payments from customers, and secure cash according to procedure. - Operate equipment - POS, printers, computer, radio, etc - Conduct closing procedures as directed. - Collaborative teamwork and effective communication with the Curling Supervisor, Curling Ice Team, and other SLSC colleagues. - Perform all work with proper safety procedures in mind to ensure a safe environment for the individual themselves and the general building population. - Support a planned expansion of services, which may begin to include ready-to-serve food options. - Other tasks/duties that may change upon request **Qualifications**: - Must be 18+ (for alcohol service) - 1-2 years related lounge/bartending experience is preferred - Proof of a valid ProServe Certification will be required prior to start date. - Customer friendly attitude, proactive and efficient - Dedicated to ensuring a clean, organized, professional and well-maintained environment - First Aid and CPR certification is an asset - Physical requirements: standing for an extended period, walking, lifting, and performing repetitive motion - Able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check
