We are looking for a **Visual Merchandiser** for creating visually appealing and customer-friendly displays within the furniture store to enhance the shopping experience, drive sales, and promote the store’s brand aesthetic.
**Job Overview**
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Create Compelling Visual Displays**: Design and arrange furniture, lighting, and decor in showrooms to highlight product features, reflect current interior design trends, and create aspirational lifestyle displays that appeal to furniture buyers.
- **Seasonal and Thematic Staging**: Develop seasonal displays (e.g., spring refresh, holiday collections) and thematic setups (e.g., modern, transitional, Scandinavian) that align with sales campaigns and resonate with customer preferences.
- **Optimize Showroom Layouts**: Plan and execute floor layouts that maximize space, improve customer flow, and highlight key products, ensuring displays are accessible and visually engaging.
- **Collaborate with Teams**: Work closely with the marketing, sales, and inventory teams to align visual merchandising with promotional campaigns, new arrivals, and clearance initiatives.
- **Incorporate Trends**: Stay updated on furniture and interior design trends (e.g., earth-toned decor, bold color accents, mínimalist aesthetics) to keep displays fresh, relevant, and competitive in the furniture retail market.
- **Enhance Product Presentation**: Use props, têxtiles, and accessories to elevate furniture presentations, ensuring each piece is styled to showcase its potential in a home setting.
- **Maintain Displays**: Regularly refresh and maintain displays to ensure they remain clean, organized, and visually appealing, addressing wear and tear or inventory changes promptly.
- **Event and Promotion Support**: Design in-store setups for special events, product launches, or sales promotions to create buzz and attract foot traffic to our South Surrey and White Rock locations.
- **Customer Engagement**: Occasionally interact with customers to explain design choices or provide styling tips, enhancing their shopping experience and encouraging purchases.
**Qualifications and Skills**
- **Experience**: 3+ years of experience in visual merchandising, interior design, or home staging, preferably in furniture retail or home decor industries.
**Interior Design Expertise**:
- Proficiency in spatial planning, color theory, and furniture arrangement to create balanced and inviting displays.
**Staging Skills**:
- Proven ability to stage furniture and decor to tell a story, highlight functionality, and appeal to diverse customer demographics, including small-space dwellers and luxury buyers.
- Experience creating displays that demonstrate how furniture fits into various home environments (e.g., living rooms, dining areas, bedrooms).
**Soft Skills**:
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating visually cohesive and polished presentations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and occasionally engage with customers.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to lift and move furniture or decor items (up to 50 lbs) and work on ladders or scaffolding to set up displays.
- Comfort working on the showroom floor, including standing or walking for extended periods.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
