**Position: Manual Lathe Operator**
- Performs a wide variety of activities on various machinery throughout the plant mainly including manual lathes for steel and aluminum components.
- Follow all steps outlined on machine specific work instructions.
- Read and work from part drawings and follow verbal instructions.
- Set up and operate manual lathes and mills.
- Pull raw material inventory according to order specifications;
- Properly load material onto cutting bed with appropriate material handling equipment (may require lifting of up to 50 lbs.).
- Monitor and manage (including troubleshooting) the cutting operation.
- Assess cut pieces for quality, measure and document your work and prepare the product for delivery.
- Load and unload delivery trucks and other material movement jobs as required.
- Inspect and record part quality utilizing various measurement equipment.
- Assist other operators to load blanks on machinery in various departments.
- Use various pneumatic or electrical hand tools.
- Ensure that the workplace is kept clean and at the end of the shift all the machinery and floors are swept clean.
- Other related duties and responsibilities as assign by the Manager or his designate.

Qualifications and skills:

- Machine products according to specified drawings/ blueprints and procedures.
- Conduct initial inspections of machined products to ensure adherence to dimensional specifications and quality.
- Organize and maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area in a professional and safe manner
- 1-2 years of lathe experience on similar machinery and machined components.
- Ability to use lifting devices and jib crane.
- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, organize deadlines and priorities.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings/ symbols, drawing specifications, materials and technical manuals.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination with strong attention to detail.
- Strong team player.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.

**Salary**: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
