As a Surgical Processor, you will be responsible for the decontamination, reassembly and sterilization of hospital supplies, equipment and surgical instrumentation. **Required Qualifications**:
Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program. Completion of an Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification or Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification.
**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Grade 12 or equivalent. Minimum of one-year hands-on experience working at all workstations in the Medical Device Reprocessing Area of a Hospital. Must be able to comprehend, speak, read and write English fluently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as constant and open communication (person-to-person, Vocera, phone) is required at all times by all staff working in MDRD to ensure that issues/potential issues are addressed in a timely manner and instrumentation is reprocessed on time to support safe, patient care. Proficient in SPM, Microsoft Office Suite, ESP. Requires manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks using fine motor skills; must be in good health without limitation affecting standing and walking; must be able to lift 10 kilograms (22lbs) and push/pull carts weighing up to 114 kilograms (250lbs) as required. Strong attention to detail, exercises considerable judgement and demonstrates excellent decision-making skills, along with exceptional problem-solving skills. Under the direction of the Leadership Team, works well independently and as part of a team. Strong ability to work under pressure, in stressful, fast-paced situations, handle multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and able to adapt to changing needs throughout the day, without compromising quality and patient care. Adheres to established policies and procedures.
