**Purpose of the Role**

As a Project Controls Specialist, you are part of a small team of project service experts (Cost Estimator and Document Controller) that form the nucleus of a larger project services growth while Svante scales-up. You will be building project schedules, resource planning, risk & change monitoring, cost controlling and project reporting for Svante's projects. Your focus will be on FEL1/FEL2 and work with our EPC partners for FEL3.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- You have acquired a degree in a related field: Engineering, construction management, etc. or equivalent experience.
- You have 3-5 years of similar project controls work experience or as a self-perform contractor on projects (projects upwards of 50 million CAD in value).
- You have a keen understanding of the synergies between estimating, scheduling, and control of cost.
- You have hands-on experience in Project Management Software (i.e. P6, Microsoft Project, Microsoft 365).
- You have demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Work, Outlook, PowerPoint).

**Bonus Skills and Qualifications**
- AACE certification
- Experience in power, heavy industrial, gas separation, oil / natural gas pipeline and associated facilities, process facilities, or other utility type construction projects.

**What Success looks like in this role**
- You'll recognize processes/project actions that may lead to project financial impact.
- You'll develop and maintain WBS for small projects.
- You assist in the use of deliverables and specifications in the establishment of project schedules and cost baseline data.
- You begin basic analysis of cost and schedule variances.
- You support in assembling data for trending and forecasting.
- You utilize your understanding of progress/performance data and associated concepts and principles, and participate in the collection of progress data and review of performance trends.
- You use your knowledge of earned value, scope control, risk & change management concepts, principles, and methodologies to contribute to project success.
- You collect data and produce an initial analysis on manpower, labor hour, and labor cost requirements versus budget limitations.
