If you have a passion for customer service and thrive in a team environment, Denninger’s is the place for you **What We Offer** - A rewarding and fun work atmosphere - Flexible work schedules - Competitive wages - 20% Staff discount across all locations - 50% Staff discount at our Bistro/ Bitehaus - Perks Program (Monthly Super Staff Discounts, Goodlife Discount, Perkopolis and more) - Immediate health, vision and dental benefits upon hire - Employee Assistance Program - Access to 24/7 virtual health care - Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP) **Job Summary**: The role of the Produce Category Specialist is to execute merchandising strategies to achieve Sales and Net Operating Profit (NOP) goals and create consistency across all locations while giving customers an excellent shopping experience. **Reports to**: Category Manager & Retail Buyer **Duties** - Assist in developing and executing the Company's Merchandising and Promotional strategies to achieve the Company's sales objectives. - Forecast and assist in the purchasing of products. - Hands on merchandising to create fresh, impactful displays within the department and cross promotional areas. - Assist in product development & sourcing new products to bring innovation in the category. - Implement & train administrative procedures for all locations. - Monitor inventory levels in the assigned department category to maximize sales and gross margin for the assigned department category. - Effective product life cycle management, coordinating stock with various departments. - Assist in administering vendor credits to ensure sales and gross margin are maximized for the assigned department category. - Ensure quality control of all products. - Oversee the ordering of the assigned department category effectively to achieve maximum sales and gross margin - All other duties as assigned by Management **Requirements**: - A minimum of 3 years experience in a fresh grocery department or similar retail environment is required. - A valid G license with a clean driver's abstract and reliable access to a vehicle is required. - Demonstrate a hands on management style. - Proven leadership skills and ability to delegate. - Demonstrates professionalism and strong communication skills throughout all levels of the organization. - Proven ability to handle confidential information. - Excellent time management skills. **Essential Job Functions** - Stand and walk for extended periods of time. - Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat. - Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds.
