The primary role of the **Industrial Maintenance Manager** will be to plan, coordinate, and ensure timely completion of all maintenance projects for WDP production facilities, and to develop and manage a preventative maintenance of all equipment to ensure optimal functioning and continuous operations in our plant equipment and facilities. The responsibilities include preventive maintenance, ongoing maintenance work orders, projects related to plant expansion, and building facilities. The Maintenance Manager directs, supports, and trains the maintenance staff in a manner that creates engagement and productivity within the team.

Working collaboratively with the Plant Manager, this role includes active participation in capital projects and continuous improvement programs aimed at improving operational effectiveness and efficiency within the plant. As a key member of the Vitalus team, participates in organizational projects and initiatives.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS**

**Plant Facility & Equipment Maintenance**
- Defines, sets up and manages the goals and KPIs for the maintenance department.
- Oversees ongoing maintenance operations to ensure reliability, availability, and continued operations.
- Plans, implements, and directs maintenance of the plant facility and equipment to meet plant production needs.
- Works with the Plant Manager on chronic issues and assigns support from the maintenance team as required to ensure optimal equipment reliability.
- Plans major maintenance projects and develops capital investment recommendations for the Plant.

**Preventative Maintenance Program**
- Develops, enhances and ensures the execution of an effective preventive maintenance program.
- Manages and plans all operations preventive maintenance (P.M.) activities and related documentation as per SOP to provide machine uptime to meet production schedules.
- Oversees the development of preventive maintenance schedules and ensures schedules are adhered to.

**Administrative**
- Manages the operating budgets for maintenance supplies.
- Develops and maintains excellent relationships with manufacturers and suppliers for equipment quotes, maintenance, and other outside services.
- Ensures the right and timely sourcing of parts and components required for equipment maintenance and improvement; guarantees proper spare part inventory of all equipment.
- Makes sure that the Maintenance Information Systems are permanently maintained and up to date, including parts, SOPs, WOs, POs, PMs, etc.
- Builds positive and productive relationships; works collaboratively with internal customers and other departments to identify and support their needs.

**Leadership & Human Resources**
- Develop and maintain a team-based work environment by providing leadership, direction, coaching, training, and clear and consistent communication to the maintenance staff.
- Oversees all maintenance tradespersons and building facilities personnel.
- Coordinates human resources required to manage maintenance operations and building facilities in a timely and efficient manner.
- Conduct periodical team meetings with direct reports and staff.
- Identifies training needs and provides training and development for maintenance and building facilities employees.
- Ensure a respectful, safe, and healthy work environment for employees. Specifically, fosters safe work practices by enforcing standard safety procedures and as required develop and implement practical recommendations for safety practices.
- Assist in the development of positive cross functional/department relationships.

- Contributes to the maintenance of a Continuous Improvement environment.
- Supports the Capital Projects Team with systems, processes and equipment installations as periodically required.

**COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, Ability)**
- Knowledge of maintenance planning and CMM systems.
- Knowledge of food processing plant is mandatory required, experience with dairy facilities and equipment is desired.
- Experience with reliability centered maintenance considered is an asset.
