The Cashier/Customer Service Sales Associate provides all point of sale functions, including recording and collecting for customer purchases, processing transactions (cash, credit card, debit card) using retail software, keeping accurate record of all cash, in-house charge, and credit card transactions (debit, gift card, etc), reconciling records of sale with cash and credit information and making sure they balance, and performing various services for customers, such as providing information and confirming prices, all done in a prompt, friendly manner. This position will maintain & increase sales by providing superior service to customers in-person and over the phone and will also provide a shopping experience that will encourage customers to return by demonstrating product knowledge and professionalism. The Cashier/Customer Service Sales Associate performs all assigned tasks with sufficient speed and accuracy to support store efficiency and a high level of customer service.

**Responsibilities**:
Acknowledge and greet customers with a smile when both entering and leaving the store.

Ring through product accurately to keep inventory correct.

Process payments on accounts.

Answer customers’ questions, and provide information on procedures or policies such as; returns, final sales, promotions, etc.

Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.

Maintain a clean and organized checkout area

Maintain awareness of promotions.

Check stock of sales flyer items on the computer and prepare flyer cards.

Accurately count money in cash drawer at the beginning and end of shift to ensure amounts are correct.

Ensure there is adequate change throughout the day.

Balance cash registers at the end of each shift and reconciling any discrepancies

Follow the step-by-step process of shutting down each day ensuring you balance.

Understand and be able to use the different functions of the Prism System, such as; layaways, suspends, orders, etc.

Increase sales by developing product knowledge and selling skills.

Maintain a high level of customer service by providing exceptional service.

Collaborate with other store staff to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction

Actively promote the products & services of Annapolis Home Hardware Building Centre.

Update your product knowledge and take ownership of training opportunities.

Follow all store policies and procedures, including safety and security guidelines

Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal, organizational, customer service and time management skills.

Technical and problem-solving skills.

Retail sales experience is an asset.

Ability to work flexible schedule including Saturdays.

Willingness to learn and develop professional skills.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $15.20-$16.25 per hour
