Hey, we’re Article. You might have known us as an online-only furniture company. Well, that just changed. We've opened our first showroom store in East Vancouver. As the** Assistant Store Manager
- Interior Design**, you have a great understanding of interior design and a passion for driving retail sales through exceptional customer engagement.
**Why We Need You**:
On our retail team, you will work with customers to help plan and design their spaces. You will create individualized design plans using tools such as 2D, 3D floor plans, and mood boards. You will drive both personal and store KPI’s whilst providing training and coaching as the team grows and keep the motivation going; all whilst having fun
The training program spans four weeks in total. For the first two weeks, you’ll receive comprehensive training at our headquarters, followed by two weeks of hands-on experience at one of our stores to complete your onboarding.

**Store Address**: 848 E Hastings St, Vancouver, BC, V6A 1R6
**Store Hours**: 10 am-6 pm Monday-Sunday
**Team Size**: 6 total Particles
**What You’ll Do**:
- Partner with the Manager, Retail Operations to establish and communicate all sales metric expectations within the store and drive a performance culture.
- In collaboration with the Manager, Retail Operations to provide support, training and development of a team of Home Experts.
- Analyze results through reporting and translate them to actionable behaviors to improve KPIs
- Ensure all customers are provided an exceptional experience and role model service expectations.
- Building a high-energy culture of excitement and engagement focused on creating memorable experiences for our customers.
- Develop a strong knowledge of the Article's product range.
- Maintain standards for Visual Merchandising that include, marketing, product placement, visual display standards, lighting, etc.
- Teach Interior Design fundamentals to the store team.
- Handle escalated customer concerns and follow up with positive results.
- Lead and validate client strategy to build lasting relationships with existing customers and drive new customer acquisition.
- Gathering customer requirements, discussing designs, answering questions, taking orders, and following up with customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Creating functional layouts, inspiration and furniture selection mood boards with product
- Selling the virtues of your interior designs effectively, ensuring the prospect is confident that it will meet their functional needs and looks beautiful.
**Who You Are**:
- 2+ years of retail leadership experience in customer service
- 2+ years of proven experience in retail with detailed knowledge of fashion & retail
- 2+ years of previous experience in Interior Design/Home Design
- Strong ability to understand and use financial data to make decisions and influence outcomes
- Proficient retail knowledge - operational and selling skills
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to use critical thinking and creative ways to solve problems
- Excellent sales and customer service skills
- Strong ability to build rapport with customers, and ability to teach others how to close a sale
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stay up to date on current design trends
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong ability to collaborate and influence across different levels and departments
- Leading and demonstrating The Article Way within the store
- Linking results to behaviors and actions to drive top-line sales
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Legally able to work in Canada
- Completion of criminal background check
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of standing
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds repeatedly
Travel required
