EPCOR's Water Services group (EWS) is excited to announce a full-time, permanent opportunity for a **Public Engagement Manager**. Based at our Rossdale Water Treatment Plant in Edmonton, this role is part of the Communications & Public Engagement team.

EPCOR is seeking a strategic and experienced Public Engagement Manager to lead the development and execution of engagement strategies across a diverse portfolio of projects.

Success in this role requires deep expertise in public engagement practices and the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders—including customers, government representatives, and regulatory bodies. The Manager will also champion process improvements and ensure alignment with EPCOR’s broader external communications goals. What you’d be responsible for

The **Public Engagement Manager** is responsible for supporting the growth and performance of a team of four direct reports. They work in close partnership with the **Public Engagement** Senior Manager** and operate within the strategic direction and parameters established by that role.

**Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Contributing to strategic planning by advising the Senior Manager on stakeholder engagement and customer experience initiatives.
- Leading and managing the public engagement team’s day-to-day operations, assignments, and resourcing to support Water Services.
- Developing and executing short
- and long-term engagement plans aligned with Water Services and Communications & Public Engagement operational goals.
- Designing and delivering public engagement strategies that meet or exceed regulatory requirements and leverage appropriate tools to support project success.
- Coaching and mentoring team members to ensure aligned, high-quality deliverables, while fostering growth, retention, and succession planning.
- Managing team structure and staffing, including recruitment, development, and performance management.
- Participating in budget planning by identifying project-specific resource and funding needs.
- Representing Communications & Public Engagement on project teams, offering strategic input that protects EPCOR’s reputation and reflects stakeholder interests.
- Driving continuous improvement in consultation processes to enhance efficiency, stakeholder satisfaction, and the overall customer experience.
- Addressing operational and reputational risks by managing public-facing issues and supporting responses to high-profile customer concerns, including preparing briefings for senior stakeholders.

What’s required to be successful

**Education & Certifications**
- Degree in Business, Communications, Social Sciences, or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- _ IAP2 certification is considered an asset._

**Experience**
- 5-7 years of experience in stakeholder consultation and communications, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Proven experience developing, leading, and executing strategic stakeholder engagement plans.
- Experience managing contractors for research, design, printing, and distribution.
- Familiarity with Indigenous engagement, the utility sector, regulatory environments, and principles of change management and continuous improvement is an asset.

**Skills & Competencies**
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and respectfully convey complex, technical information to diverse audiences.
- Effective project management and conflict resolution skills.
- Skilled in managing stakeholder relationships and enhancing customer experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint, with working knowledge of stakeholder tracking systems.
