**Job Purpose**:
As the Accounting Specialist at TAK Logistics, your main responsibility will be managing key accounting functions to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial records. Reporting to the Controller, you will support our accounting team by assisting with tasks such as bank reconciliation, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and month-end reporting. Your keen attention to detail and proactive approach will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial integrity while supporting the growth of our company.

**Job Focus**:

- **Efficient Financial Management**: Assist with various accounting processes, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- **Accounts Receivable Management**: Actively manage accounts receivable to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
- **Detail-Oriented Work**: Ensure financial data is correctly entered and maintained, with strong attention to detail.
- **Proactive Communication**: Work closely with internal teams, vendors, and customers to resolve discrepancies and provide timely updates.
- **Organizational Support**: Provide essential support in month-end closing and regular reporting to assist management in decision-making.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Bank Reconciliation**:
Prepare bank reconciliations for 5+ bank accounts, ensuring accurate and timely completion.

**Accounts Payable Management**:
Enter vendor bills accurately into the system.

Prepare the weekly cheque run.

Provide regular updates on vendor payment statuses.

**Accounts Receivable (AR) Management**:
Process customer cheque and EFT deposits.

Assist in the weekly statement and collections process.

**Reporting and Reconciliations**:
Conduct month-end account reconciliations and assist in month-end support.

Prepare monthly reports

**Financial Record Maintenance**:
Maintain prepaid spreadsheets and assist with the exception report process.

**Scorecard Reporting**:
Prepare weekly scorecard reports and provide financial data analysis support.

**Skills & Competencies**:

- **Proven Technical Accounting Knowledge**: Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- **Independent and Self-Motivated**: Able to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and meet deadlines without close supervision.
- **Detail-Oriented**: Accuracy in data entry and reporting is essential.
- **Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills**: Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues effectively.
- **Business Mindset**: A proactive and strategic thinker who can contribute to improving business processes.
- **QuickBooks Proficiency (Intermediate to Advanced)**: Strong knowledge of QuickBooks to manage AP, AR, and other financial tasks.
- **Excel Proficiency (Intermediate to Advanced)**: Advanced Excel skills for reporting, analysis, and reconciliation tasks.
- **Formal Education in Accounting or Related Field**: Required to have a background in accounting or a related field.
- **Bilingual (French-English) Preferred**: Ability to speak and read French is an asset.

**Salary**: From $55,000 per year based on experience
