Cricket Care Technician

**Duties**:

- Maintaining and caring for crickets and their enclosures, including identifiying and implementing improvements to breeding, raising and culling processes and equipment with a focus on automation and sustainability
- Producing and shipping a growing portfolio of cricket-based products, including frozen crickets and dehydrated cricket powder at present
- Designing, executing and reporting on simple experiments related to cricket farming and new product development
- Maintaining and contributing to the documentation of standard operating procedures, intellectual property and key performance indicators
- Assisting with business plan writing, market research and the development of grant/funding proposals

**Qualifications**:

- Experience working in a farming and/or processing environment considered an asset
- Experience working in a research-focused environment considered an asset
- Flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to cover weekend or weekday shifts
- Keen attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Demonstrated ability to work pro-actively in both team and independent environments
- Strong communicator, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders, researchers and government representatives
- Ability to work, at times, in hot, humid environments and lift up to 50 lbs
