**Automation Technician**

An industry leader in the automotive industry for metal stampings and assembly has a career opportunity for an automation/maintenance technician. The automation /maintenance technician provides troubleshooting and root cause analysis of robotic assemblies, automated stamping lines, transfer systems as well as support the day to day operations of the facility through maintenance tasks.

**Job Summary**
- Interpret, path modification and program edits on robots
- Routine to complex troubleshooting for hardware and software using knowledge of PLC’s and circuit analysis
- Onsite calls to correct problems on automated robotic systems, press line and weld assemblies
- Perform preventative maintenance on electronic devices, robots and welders
- Provide technical assistance to the customer and other skilled trades
- Maintain asset documentation and consumables
- Perform basic maintenance tasks as needed

**Job Requirements**
- Electronics Engineering Technology (Industrial Automation), Electromechanical Engineering Technician (Robotics) Diploma or equivalent combination of technical courses and/or experience
- Basic knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC programming software
- Basic knowledge of robotic language interfacing and programming, Devicenet and Ethernet communications, I/O capabilities and communications is an asset
- 3+ years experience in a related field
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Ability to use handheld tools
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

**Experience in any of the following is an asset**:

- Kawasaki Robots - AD,C,D, and E controllers
- Kuka Robots - KRC2 and KRC4 controllers
- Motoman Robots - MRC, XRC and NX100 controllers
- Allen Bradley Software - Studio 5000, FTView Studio, RSLogix 500
- Medar and Bosch weld controllers
- Devicenet and Ethernet communications
- Resistance spot, projection and robotic mig welding
