The Common Good Café & Social House is currently seeking an enthusiastic, team centric, experienced café / social house server.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILIITES
The server’s responsibilities include, but not limited to
- Provide outstanding food service to our guests to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
- Present menu and provide detailed information about menu items and drinks.
- Inform customers about daily specials and offer menu recommendations upon request.
- Take food and drink orders and verify to ensure accuracy.
- Effectively communicate with your kitchen colleagues to make sure orders are accurate and delivered promptly.
- Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems.
- Arrange table settings by setting up linens, silverware, and glasses.
- Remove dirty plates, glasses, and silverware.
- Clean and polish silverware and glasses as needed.
- Make and prepare a variety of coffee centric beverages including but not limited to lattes, espresso, americano and flat whites.
- Prepare and make alcoholic beverages.
- Pre and post shift duties such as restocking condiments etc. to prepare for incoming shift and to report any items shortages.
- Process payments using the café's Point of Sale System
- Answer incoming calls and utilize the POS system to make reservations.
- Ensure the Café is clean and well presented.
- Follow all relevant health department regulation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Previous server experience in a fine dining capacity
- Smart Serve certificate required.
- Positive attitude with strong communication skills
- May be required to work a rotating schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- First Aid Certificate an asset
- Food Service Handler’s certificate an asset
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Successful reference and background check.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Frequent bending, walking, and standing. ()
- Able to lift up to 30Lbs.
- Work inside and outside in varying temperatures.
