Part Time weekends and evenings

RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT WORKER

Looking for meaningful and rewarding employment with the satisfaction of knowing you are making a difference? We are looking to hire a compassionate Residential Support Worker for our residential group home in Cumberland serving young adults with physical, developmental and behavioural challenges.

The rotations include days, evenings and weekends

PART TIME permanent positions available.

NOTE: All positions require a valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle (No public transportation)

Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required
- DSW, PSW, or relevant education and experience in the field are preferred but not required
- Cooking and cleaning skills.
- Ability to follow direction and work as a member of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Police Vulnerable Sector Background check
- Willingness to be trained to work with challenging behavioural situations

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Understand and promote the rights and responsibilities of the individuals.
- Assist high needs residents with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, hygienic, feeding and outings)
- Perform delegated tasks such as administering medications, and completing range of motion activities according to medical professional’s instructions within established agency Policies and Procedures and Individual Support Plans.
- Follow through with the individual’s prescribed dietary needs. Prepare meals
- Perform general household cleaning and sanitization duties
- Implement programs and activities that promote learning and development in daily living, social and life skills.

- Day/Evening shift
- Weekend availability is a must
