**Position Description**:Inventory Control Associate**:**
Reports to**: Inventory Control Supervisor**:**
Primary Objectives**:
- Maintain and improve profitability and excellent customer service by:
- Maintaining the integrity of the inventory
- Developing and maintaining strong and positive relationships with co-workers and branches
- Ensure that all safety standards are met and exceeded as outlined in the Company Safety Manual
- Demonstrate personal responsibility and accountability daily regarding attitude, job performance, professionalism and commitment to continuous development
- Support and promote the company’s Core Values of Personal Excellence, Teamwork and Achievement
- Ensure the accuracy and credibility of the actual inventory in the Vaughn Distribution Center compared to the book inventory
- Perform daily cycle count, assist with audit and checks of this cycle count
- Daily stock replenishment as required
**Safety Accountabilities**:
- Use/wear any protective equipment, devices or clothing required by Marks supply i.ee steel toed shoes or boots, cut resistant gloves, safety glasses, and respirators
- as applicable to the job
- Report to supervisor the absence of safety devices or any defect in any safety/ equipment device that you are aware of, which could endanger yourself or others
- Report immediately to your supervisor: any contraventions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) or the company safety polices, any accidents or incidents that occur, or the existence of any hazards you are aware of
- Operate any necessary machinery or equipment safely in accordance with the safety rules and procedures for that equipment
- Be aware of the common hazards in this position (following safety procedures and using caution): Ergonomic injuries, trips, slips, cuts, lifting incorrectly, hand/foot injuries, and falls
- Keep up to date on the company Health and Safety policies, follow the policies and procedures
- Ensure that all safety standards are met and exceeded as outlined in the OHSA and the Company Safety Manual
**Key Accountabilities**
- Oversee inventory counting in term of immediate counts and standard daily counts, investigating discrepancies accordingly
- Recommend changes in activity as business needs required
- Oversee cycles count to ensure all items appear on the cycle counting queue daily
- Reconcile daily count adjustments to ensure accuracy
- Manage stock inquiries from all branch locations
- Perform primary location replenishment through the replenishment queue in Eclipse/Solar and as requested by management
- Assist with product identification and location
- Investigate drastic changes in inventory values/adjustments to inventory
- Assist with reconciling transfer dispute reports
- Advise shift supervisors of consistent errors being made
- New product set up
- when new product is being brought into stock at the Vaughan Distribution Center ensure primary bins and the min/max’s are set up
- Assist in and conduct vendor inspections
- Investigate inventory discrepancies
- Print various bar code labels on the computer
- As products are removed from stock, break primary location relationship to free that location for future use
- Review the bin min/max volumes to ensure accurate replenishment can occur
- Perform the cycle count daily
- Assist other departments when required
- Other related duties are assigned
**Requirements**:
- Post secondary education is business or supply chain management related studies would be an asset
- Prior warehouse experience with experience in plumbing and HVAC distribution industry preferred
- Inventory control experience would be an asset
- Ability to operate material handling equipment. Tow motor certification required for this position
- Strong computer skills including Eclipse/Solar and Microsoft related products
- Excellent problem solving, organizational skills and communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment to achieve both company and personal success as well as the ability to work unsupervised
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Ability to work overtime as required to complete daily tasks or to assist the department when there is a heavy workload
- Ability to deal with situations quickly and calmly under emergency conditions
- Physically agile in order to lift, carry and move large awkward items
