**OPTIONS Work Activity Program**

The mission of the OPTIONS Work Activity Program is to help prepare and integrate individuals with barriers to employment into the workforce and community. This is achieved by providing pre-employment and employment services, focused on personal, social and work-related skills development. The Options Work Activity Program supports participants, ages 16 to 60+, who are on the path to sustainable employment that may require more intensive services than those offered elsewhere.

The Environmental Services Facilitator will develop and deliver a program which prepares participants for employment in environmental services such as commercial cleaning in schools, offices, hotels, buildings, retail, and residential homes, along with, recycling and laundry protocol management. Monitors skill development, work habits and performance appropriate for standard workplace practices. For more details about the position, please see below:

- Conduct training sessions delivered through different modalities that include an experiential learning approach:

- Professional cleaning and sanitization procedures and techniques
- Floor cleaning and resurfacing including stripping, sealing and waxing floors
- Waste management and recycling procedures
- Laundry services; clean, dry, fold, storage, delivery of towels, aprons, and linens
- Inventory maintenance
- Workplace safety
- Client care and professional practices
- On demand: Painting and minor building repairs
- Conduct WHMIS Workshops.
- Responsible for supplies/inventory management.
- Responsible for coordinating and ensuring cleaning and maintenance of the center.
- Ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of the Environmental Services Program.
- Perform needs assessment of interests, values, skills and competencies of participants and connecting them with market needs.
- Coach participants throughout the program providing progress reports on work-based activities.
- Maintain up-to-date statistics and reports.
- Liaise with other staff concerning the program and participants.
- Assist the Job Developer in attaining appropriate on-the-job work placements.
- Willingness to perform other duties as required.

**Qualifications**
- A combination of education and work 3+ years of experience that demonstrates ability in this industry.
- Demonstrated strong commitment to working with diverse populations.
- Supervisory experience in commercial cleaning and environmental services is an asset.
- Physically demanding
- Able to push, pull, and lift up to 25 - 50 lbs. Standing for long periods of time.
- Certified WHMIS Instructor is an asset.
- Established effective and appropriate interpersonal communication skills.
- Experienced with training adult learners.
