A critical role that drives to enhance and evolve the RBCx platform to support RBC business units, internal ventures, and external companies to reach their objectives. The Head, Product will run all aspects of product strategy, execution and operations and will drive the development, implementation and oversight required as RBCx expands its presence outside of Canada, supporting tech companies in innovative ways and driving the transformational aspect of Ventures through meaningful acquisitions and investments.

The Head, Product will oversee all product-related activities at RBCx including product strategy, product visioning, building new products from concept to successful delivery and market leadership and working with marketing on campaigns. This position will have reporting oversight over every Venture’s product lead to ensure we have consistent and proven product management capabilities and increase our speed to market and likelihood of success for each of our Ventures. The Head, Product will also be responsible for providing product management best practices, evaluating consumer needs, recommending product development strategies and determining the pricing of new products.

**WHAT WILL YOU DO?**

The Head, Product will drive best practices in product development within RBCx, that can be leveraged within the broader RBC enterprise and will have ultimate accountability for all product teams within RBCx by creating a product COE. This individual also needs to be able to align the product development needs between RBCx and P&CB.

Some of the areas where the Head, Product will work with our product leaders would be:

- Identifying, prioritizing, launching, and growing new products
- Analyzing and championing the voice of the customer - translating customer pains into opportunities to create solutions the customer cannot yet articulate
- Engaging functional leader peers in a regular strategic dialogue or process to ensure alignment on direction
- Elicit key adjustments to the product roadmap where appropriate
- Soliciting and incorporating indirect customer and market feedback across key customer-facing functions
- Scaling high-performing and mission-driven Product Management teams
- Building, hiring, coaching, developing, and retaining the Product Management leadership of today and the future
- Designing measurable tactical and strategic indicators of success that include data-driven inputs and outputs
- Supporting M&A of new products to add to a Ventures’ product offerings
- Ensuring that the Venture understands the vision and direction for the product by building understanding and alignment across the organization around what we’re prioritizing in Product (and what we’re not)
- Partnering closely with Chief Technology Officer and broader Executive Team

**WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?**
- At least ten years of consistent, progressive career growth
- Effectively influence, partner, and communicate cross-functionally with engineering and financial business teams across a company to set and deliver on product vision
- History of building and coaching high-performing teams who are motivated to do better and think bigger because of their leadership
- Ability to think and operate strategically while at the same time driving execution at the tactical level
- Data-driven mindset and highly analytical with the desire and ability to dig into metrics to derive insights and drive decisions
- Multi-product experience with a focus on successfully linking arms with marketing and sales to drive alignment
- Experience in M&A lead growth, decision-making and integration is a plus
- Post graduate degree or equivalent experience preferred
