The Calgary Food Bank is the first line of emergency food support for families and individuals facing crisis. As the city’s main charitable food hub and the most accessible food bank, we have the capacity to serve families, individuals, and organizations to fight hunger. **We are currently recruiting a Donor Relations Coordinator to join our Community Engagement team.** Our Community Engagement team is responsible for Communications, Fund Development, Donations Processing, Events, and Research. Last year (September 1, 2022, to August 31, 2023), the Community Engagement team worked collaboratively to raise $20.3 million in funds and $41.9 million in food donations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Serve as the primary point of contact for donors, responding promptly to inquiries, requests for information and in-person donor visits.
- Work collaboratively with the fund development team to process donations and provide timely and accurate thank-you letters and receipts
- Maintain key donor systems such as Canada Helps, Benevity, etc.
- Oversight of monthly donor program.
- Prepare and maintain accurate donor records in the CRM database, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Monitor and report on annual and seasonal campaigns, highlighting donor trends against strategic planning and outcomes.
- Collaborate with the fund development team to identify opportunities for donor engagement and fundraising initiatives.
- Actively support and undertake regular and monthly donor stewardship, retention and appreciation strategies.
- Assist with maintaining annual fundraising and stewardship calendar.
- Prepare regular reports on donor activity, retention rates and fundraising goals.
- Conduct prospect research to identify potential major donors and grant opportunities.
- Monitor and process wills and estates and legacy giving portfolios.
- As appropriate, assist in planning and conducting donor events, such as tours, cheque presentations and in-person fundraising engagements.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Relations Coordinator to identify opportunities for employee giving through corporate partnerships portfolio.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Tasks Performed**:

- Answer and respond to donor requests in a timely and professional manner, specifically focused on receipting or assisting with making a donation.
- Maintaining CRM and pipeline tools with accurate donor information and changes in donor activity.
- Reporting data and relationship activities.
- Maintain strategic fundraising tasks focused on stewardship and donor appreciation, specifically focusing on regular, monthly donors.
- Planning and maintaining donor retention and appreciation activities, initiatives and events.

**Education and Experience Required**:

- Graduate of a relevant degree or diploma in fundraising, public relations, non-profit management from a recognized college or university is required.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in donor relations or stewardship role.
- Knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices.

**Skills and Capabilities**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of people.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and prospect research tools and methods.
- Proficiency in Salesforce software is desirable.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Action oriented, and demonstrated ability to take initiative, and problem solve.
