Our wide range of services also includes primary health clinics, housing and supports, social and wellness programming, healthy food access and life skills.

A dedicated multi-disciplinary team of almost 400 including: medical staff and providers (physicians, nurse practitioners), nurses, social workers, mental health specialists, peer support workers, educators, community facilitators, and an outstanding support team provide patient and client-centered care.

**We are looking for you**
The Community and Donor Engagement Coordinator will be primarily responsible for managing and coordinating third-party, community engagement and fundraising opportunities, acting as a liaison between community volunteers, organizations and local businesses and The Alex. These opportunities will support The Alex Community Health Centre’s strategic priorities by raising both awareness and funds for programs and services. With exceptional customer service and relationship management skills, the Community and Donor Engagement Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Donor Relations, Communication and Program Teams.
The Community & Donor Engagement Coordinator is a key member of the Communication and Donor Relations team who will enhance The Alex’s efforts to create meaningful engagement opportunities for and improve accountability to donors and community supporters. This position is an exciting opportunity to accelerate the work of The Alex
**What you will do**:
- Manage and grow the third-party and community engagement and fundraising program by seeking activities, events, and opportunities within the community to raise awareness and revenue for The Alex; implement both a communication plan and stewardship program for these opportunities.
- Represent The Alex and/or coordinate staff and volunteers to represent The Alex at various events within the community, helping to promote the organization’s mission, programs, and services to the public.
- Coordinate all event and activity logistics such as maintaining an event calendar, developing briefing notes, preparation of event collateral, scheduling staff and volunteers, as needed for third-party and community engagement activities.
- Respond to all internal and external inquiries regarding third-party and community fundraising opportunities.
- Support the communications and donor relations teams with events and activities such as tours, donor stewardship events, cheque presentations etc.; provide general support, when needed.
- Manage a portfolio of community contacts and constituent data by tracking all relationship, activities, actions, information, and outcomes in the donor database; assist with database management, gift processing and tax receipting, when needed.
- Analyze and report on KPI’s for third-party and community fundraising program in alignment with the Communication and Fund Development Plan.
**What you bring**:
- Relevant University degree or College diploma; related work experience may be considered in lieu.
- Minimum of 2 years related experience in a fundraising, community engagement or communication setting; previous experience in the non-profit sector is an asset.
- Experience with fundraising software, Donor Perfect is preferable.
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to balance multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
- Exceptional computer and software skills, with experience working in MS Teams and MS Office Suite
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively, creatively and with initiative.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Professionalism and tact in handling highly sensitive and confidential information ethically and with discretion
- A satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal record check is required.
- Knowledge of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People (UNDRIP) and the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions (TRC) 94 Calls to Action considered an asset.
**Working Environment**:
- Main Building (2840 2nd Ave SE). Occasional travel within the city will be required
- 1 FTE (37.5 hours/week)
- Standard hours 8:30am - 4:30pm Monday-Friday. Shifts on evenings and weekends for events may be required
