**Key Responsibilities**:
In this position you will have the opportunity help us make continuous improvements and produce innovative solutions to spearhead CAD standard enhancements for our designs.
**Core Responsibilities**:
- Prepare digital terrain models relating to site grading and material volume generation.
- Undertake quantity take-offs including multi-surface earthworks and cost-estimates.
- Develop relevant drawing/sketches to support the operations/planning teams.
- Work with the design team to create concept grading & servicing plans.
- Manage CAD files and topographic data relating to infrastructure design (i.e., document control for all information transmitted and received with our consultant group).
- Coordinate with our surveying consultant and manage the survey requests and timing of the data needed.
**Related Responsibilities**:
- Co-ordinate “as-built” drawings both internal and external.
- Co-ordinate internal CAD operations and software in consultation with the company’s IT division and CAD provider.
- Teach other team members design techniques to improve design/CAD efficiency
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by the Development Manager.
**Basic Requirements**:
- A minimum of four (4)years’ experience in plan production and detailed design on construction & land development projects, with exposure to infrastructure design, document control and CAD improvement processes.
- Post-Secondary education, with an emphasis on design of civil engineering, planning and infrastructure developments.
- Training in any or all the following areas: Civil 3D, AutoCAD/Revit, Civil Engineering, Environmental management, Geotechnical Engineering, Surveying, and construction management (heavy, commercial, and residential)
- Demonstrated strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D (latest editions), Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, and PowerPoint. GIS programs and Civil 3D geotechnical module experience would be an asset for the position.
- Accreditation in any or all the following would be an asset: CET, Architectural Technologist, CHP, PMP, LEED and/or PLS.
**Location**:
- Time spent mostly at our Head Office in West Bedford. **May be occasional need to complete site visits, therefore access to a vehicle would be an asset**
