**Join the Forest Nursery Team**
***Now hiring **FOREST NURSERY WORKERS** for **SPRING WORK**
Make some money and meet new friends helping us create the next generation of forests.
**Hours of Work / Compensation**:
- ** Piece work thinning**: motivated and efficient workers have no upper limit on piece earnings, you earn based on performance
- Other spring activities are paid hourly: Hourly wages start at $17 per hour and over time can go up to $21.43 per hour with full benefits
- Thinning runs now - July with opportunities to join other projects on a seasonal basis throughout the year and become part of the union crew
- Flex time available to thinning crew to accommodate employees with young families or second jobs i.e. 9:00 am to 2:00 pm or just a few days a week.
**Qualifications**:
**What You Need to be a Successful Applicant**:
- A good attitude towards work and a passion for the environment
- Must be able to deal with the elements; both indoor & outdoor work
- Work is meticulous; requires sharp eyesight and high manual dexterity
- Gear required: raingear, sun hat, sunglasses, non-slip footwear, water bottle, gloves, layers to deal with the heat and the cold - assistance available for this as needed
- Reliable personal transportation is essential as we are a 15 minute drive from downtown Campbell River and there is no public transit service
- Must be able to pass a functional abilities test: lift, pull, push minimum 50lbs
