**Service Desk Analyst**
The role of Service Desk Analyst is a cornerstone of the IT team and reports directly to the IT Manager. As a member of the IT Service Desk team, you are the first point of contact with the IT department for the business. You should have strong technical skills, the professionalism and initiative to get problems resolved quickly, efficiently and escalate as appropriate. Delivering effective communication should be second nature. You will be part of a team responsible for managing the incident, request and problem queues. You will perform root cause analysis on incidents, to reduce the number of issues that staff encounter, and strive to deliver an exceptional end user experience.
**Areas of Responsibility**:
- Manage the incident, request, and problem queues according to the set SLA’s.
- Respond to inquiries and user issues, provide troubleshooting and configuration support, diagnose and resolve both hardware and software related technical issues remotely and in person.
- Document procedures, corrective actions, and update knowledge base system.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication to all customers.
- Log, track, resolve and reroute incidents and close out incidents using the IT service management system.
- Support Desktop Analyst with administration of IT Inventory.
**Technical Skills/Experience Needed**:
- Degree, diploma or certificate in Information Technology
- An understanding of how the ITIL framework can be used to deliver IT services would be considered an asset.
- At least 1 year of previous experience in a similar role.
**Skills Required**:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis for problems to reduce the reoccurrence of incidents.
- Ability to perform as a team member and work independently conduct research into a variety of IT issues including hardware, software and cloud solutions to resolve issues.
- Able and willingness to learn and understand complex configurations.
- Flexibility to work on a variety of different tasks and learn new skills as required.
