As the Head of Property, you will be responsible for strategically planning and managing the acquisition and ongoing management of property necessary for the construction and maintenance of provincial highways. This includes determining settlement of compensation arising from the acquisition of land or interests in land, the removal of buildings or other obstacles to allow for highway construction, and the disposal of surplus lands.

**Deliver on Business Goals and Priorities**
Your leadership will be crucial in guiding the team towards the achievement of their business goals. It will be your responsibility to inspire and motivate your team to deliver their best performance and align the teams daily actions with the strategic vision of the ministry.
In this role, you will:
- Manage the delivery of a real estate services program, including property appraisal, acquisition, land management, sales, leasing, and legal conveyancing to support capital construction for ministry programs.
- Lead the investigation and settlement of business loss claims arising from ministry property acquisition activities.
- Lead the acquisition and management of external consulting and contract staff.
- Manage stakeholder relations with all relevant parties, including consultants, contractors, other Ontario Public Service offices and functions, regulatory agencies, municipal and other governments, and Indigenous communities.
- Identify financial, material, and human resources needs and manage the operational/program/project or activities budget.
- Respond to emergency situations affecting real estate assets, collaborate with other offices/units, and determine a course of action for effective issue resolution.

- You possess knowledge of real estate market conditions and trends, as well as environmental issues, legislation, and policy frameworks governing the acquisition, sale, and lease of real estate (e.g., infrastructure improvement and management, Expropriations Act, Public Lands Act, Highway Traffic Act, and Occupational Health and Safety Act).
