About the role:
Key Responsibilities:
Business Continuity Management (BCM) & Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM):

- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-wide BCM and TPRM programs.
- Coordinate business impact analyses (BIA), risk assessments, and recovery strategy planning.
- Support BC/DR tests to meet resilience goals.
- Manage third-party risk assessments, due diligence, and vendor monitoring.
- Provide recommendations to enhance BCM and TPRM in line with regulations and industry standards.

Technology & Operational Governance:

- Assist in implementing governance frameworks for technology and operations, aligned with risk appetite and strategic objectives.
- Ensure IT and operational policies are communicated and followed organization-wide.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate IT and operational risks.
- Support governance oversight for IT and operational projects.

Data Governance:

- Support data governance strategies for ensuring data quality, integrity, and security.
- Help establish data stewardship and lifecycle management, including classification, storage, retention, and deletion, to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Use data governance tools to manage data catalogues, lineage, and metadata to enable improved access and knowledge of our data.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
- Contribute to improving data governance practices and awareness through literacy programs and tools.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:

- Assist in stakeholder engagement, providing governance insights and recommendations.
- Help develop and deliver governance training programs.
- Prepare and present governance reports to leadership, highlighting risks and improvements.

Continuous Improvement:

- Stay updated on industry best practices, risks, and regulatory changes.
- Contribute to governance projects aimed at improving risk management.
- Support ongoing responsibilities of Data and Technology Governance Specialists.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in governance, risk management, compliance, or a related area (focus on BCM, TPRM, Data Governance, or Technology Governance is an asset).
- Master’s degree or professional certifications/designations in a related field (preferred).
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and governance frameworks.
- Proven experience in cross-functional governance initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Very strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder collaboration.
- Experience working in the financial services industry considered an asset.
