**EMERGENCY** **Sessional Instructional Assistant** **FSC303H5S - Techniquess of Crime Scene Investigation** RATE OF PAY: Effective September 1, 2023 the minimum hourly rate shall be:$52.26 COURSE: FSC303H5S-Techniques of Crime Scene Investigation COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course will provide students with an introduction to forensic photography, crime scene processing, and forensic identification. Topics include, but are not limited to: fingerprint identification, chance impression evidence, physical evidence, crime scene and victim photography, and proper documentation of a crime scene. Students will gain an understanding of the basic "toolkit" required for crime scene processing, and learn the fundamentals of proper collection and analysis of physical evidence. As an alternative to (FSC300H5, FSC302H5), this course satisfies the third year IDENT requirement needed for enrolment in FSC481Y5, FSC482H5, FSC483H5, and FSC485H5. Note: This course does not satisfy the IDENT requirement for FSC407H5. COURSE ENRLLMENT: 100 NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1 SIZE OFAPPOINTMENT: 70 hours (total number of assigned hours for all positions is dependent on course enrolment). APPOINTMENT DATES: January 1, 2025 - April 30, 2025 LECTURES: Wednesday 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM (in-person) PRACTICALS: Wednesday 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Thursday 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM, and 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM (in-person) QUALIFICATIONS: DUTIES Prep and delivery of weekly 2-hour labs and all lab demonstratives; Group in-lab supervision; Assist with marking/grading assignments; Grade entry on Quercus; Oversee, schedule and organize mock trials to ensure smooth execution of trial exercise; Hold office hours; respond to student queries. **All of the above requirements are necessary to be considered.** This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement. It is understood that some announcements of vacancies are tentative, pending final course determinations and enrolment. Should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
