Business Development Representative

Are you a driven, strategic thinker with a passion for building strong relationships and uncovering new business opportunities? As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you’ll play a key role in driving our growth by identifying prospective clients, nurturing meaningful connections, and collaborating closely with our Technical Sales Team to deliver customized solutions. Reporting to the Sales Manager and based out of our Langley office, your efforts will directly contribute to expanding our market presence and achieving long-term business success.
**Key Duties & Responsibilities**
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, market research, and tender site prospecting.
- Collaborate with the AE Concrete Technical Sales Team to qualify leads and develop winning strategies for quoting and securing projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, engineering firms, municipalities, and other key stakeholders.
- Conduct client visits and deliver Lunch & Learns to showcase our standard and custom product capabilities.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and client engagements (e.g., VRCA events, municipal functions, sporting events).
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
- Support special projects related to product development and strategic initiatives as assigned by the Sales Manager.
- Work cross-functionally to develop sales tools, promotional materials, and branding initiatives.
- Review project drawings to identify new leads and coordinate with the technical team for quoting.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, opportunities, and activities.
- Provide weekly activity reports and KPI updates to the Sales Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Professional Experience & Qualifications**
- Proven experience in business development or outside sales, preferably in a B2B environment.
- Ability to read and interpret civil project drawings and specifications (3-part spec knowledge is an asset).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a talent for building rapport and delivering persuasive presentations.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and proactive in identifying opportunities.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct market research and identify trends.

**Compensation & Benefits**
- Salary: $60,000-$90,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Bonus: Substantial performance-based bonus
- Vehicle: Company vehicle or car allowance
