Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our team. The Kitchen Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring that food is prepared and presented according to established quality standards. **Responsibilities**:
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants.
- Train new kitchen staff on proper food preparation techniques, portion control, and kitchen safety procedures.
- Monitor kitchen operations to ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed, while minimizing waste and controlling costs.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items to minimize spoilage and maintain freshness.
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs.
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork, open communication, and professional development among kitchen staff.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Supervisor or similar role in a fast-paced culinary environment.
- In-depth knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen safety, and sanitation standards.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations with composure.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Culinary degree or certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role in a commercial kitchen is highly preferred.
