Industrial Studio Lead - ( 240000WQ ) **Description** Our Industrial Buildings group helps communities around the world improve their operations and achieve long-term success, through our facility designs. The Industrial sector is a collaborative community of engineers, architects, industrial hygienists, and project managers that use their significant depth in facilities and process engineering, building design, and industrial safety to help our clients’ operations run safely, efficiently, and effectively. The industrial studio in Vancouver is just one of many design studios within Canada and US dedicated to the execution of these projects that supports the overall growth of the industrial sector. Our studio in Vancouver is comprised of approximately 80 staff including architecture, engineering (mechanical, electrical, structural, civil), project management and industrial engineering. Our multi-discipline integrated studio supports many Business Operating Units (BOUs) including buildings, energy and resources, water and transportation. We are a highly collaborative group with deep roots with our OMSF, manufacturing, warehouse and distribution clients. We have an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Studio Lead in our Vancouver office. The Studio Lead is a seller/doer, responsible for the overall success of his/her team. **Your Opportunity**: The Studio Lead will drive the development of best people, best design, best client experience and profitability in the market. The industrial Studio Lead is responsible for and accountable for: Leading the Studio’s vision, goals, strategic pursuits and project performance. Proactively and regularly communicating with the studio and wider BC to achieve our goals and performance metrics. Actively participating in the overall industrial sector’s to achieve the overall sector goals and objectives. **Your Key Responsibilities** - Responsible for setting and driving the Studio vision objectives, budget, and business plan. - Partners with other Industrial Studios to drive collaboration and work sharing across the broad industrial sector. - Ensures efficient resource management that is responsive to available workloads while balancing utilization and backlog targets that support healthy operations. - Drive Stantec’s Safer Together culture prioritizing the health and safety of our employees. - Responsible for developing, attracting, engaging and retaining top talent. - Establish employee connectedness to leadership by interfacing frequently with employees. - Act as a highly regarded leader, thought partner and a source of counsel and advice for the studio. - Builds strong partnerships with business leaders in other BOUs within the region to foster cross-BOU collaboration client opportunities to diversify the client base, grow new expertise, increase work share opportunities, and drive organic revenue growth. - Assigning the right people to the right roles to ensure excellent work is delivered to our clients that exceed expectations and grow our market position. - Outstanding client service skills with ability to lead others in delivering "a gold standard of service" to our sector clients. - Ability to respond timely and effectively to sensitive inquiries or issues of concern, exercising good judgment. **Qualifications** **Your Capabilities and Credentials**: - The Studio Leader, in concert with his/her local Business Center Operations Leader (BCOL) and Business Center Practice Leader (BCPL) will participate in the development of annual business plan based on firm wide specific Strategic Plan, including budgets for net revenue targets, and marketing business development expenses for the local market. - Ability to lead, inspire and assemble teams with a strong entrepreneurial and collaborative approach. - Recent, viable significant Industrial projects with innovative approaches. - Experience in leading a team of highly skilled professionals in this field. - Excellent communication and negotiation skills. - Strong collaborator who can bring together multi-disciplinary, multi-BC teams on a variety of projects. - Demonstrates knowledge of, and supports, mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior. **Education and Experience** - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Architecture with at least ten (10) years’ experience in manufacturing/industrial facility functional layouts, preferably using Lean/IE principles. Registration or credentials to register as an Engineer-in-Training, Engineer or Architect in British Columbia is required - Must be able to travel out of town for multiple days and must have a valid driver’s license.
