**Summary**: Responsible for end-to-end production of computer-aided designs related to outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) telecommunications projects utilizing SPATIALNET. The CAD Technician role requires a highly motivated self-starter who posses the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a large cross-functional team.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Utilize AutoCAD to effectively draft and design OSP and ISP permit, construction, and as-built drawings as per customer requirements and relevant local and regulatory standards
- Interpret field survey details, existing utility information, high level designs, and scope of work statements
- Analyze and determine the most optimal design solution to meet the project objective
- Prepare detail drawings where required of multi-dwelling unit (MDU) schematics, typical trench details, cross sections, and project specific materials
- Perform quality control and make necessary drawing updates as required
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with Project Team on items related to scope, schedule, budget, and quality
- Complete assigned projects on time and on budget
- Other duties are required

**Qualifications**: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Post-secondary diploma in Electrical, Civil, Architectural Technology, another relevant field, or equivalent work experience
- Advance knowledge, skills and working experience with Autodesk AutoCAD is required
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency
- Knowledge of CSA standards, including but not limited to CSA 22.3
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work and collaborate in a team environment
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Highly motivated self-starter with an attention to detail is a must
- Knowledge of City of Toronto Municipal Consent Requirements (MCR) is considered an asset
- Experience with GIS software and tools such as QGIS, ArcGIS, 3-GIS an asset
- Knowledge of RF/CATV and fibre systems (fibre-to-the home/FTTH, FTTB, FTTx) an asset
- Previous telecommunications or utility drafting and design experience using SPATIALNET
